SUN,SEA,SANDS

The Philippines is known as a tropical country. Blessed with rich environment—surrounded by 7,107 beautiful islands, abundant forests, white and pink sand beaches, rivers, mountains, and lakes. Filipinos are recognized for being hospitable and friendly where absolutely everyone is welcome and well treated. The country has lot of various and exciting experiences save to your journey and adventure. Most of Filipino speaks English that gives you a better chance to practice your English right here in this country. Philippines is ranked as the third largest country in the world. Studying English on a close island makes us like no added language academy anywhere abroad in the world.
Genius English Proficiency Academy is located in a tropical island resort within walking distance of restaurants, resto bars, coffee shops, supermarkets, foreign exchange, and spas. It is linked to Cebu Island by two bridges (or a short ferry trip if you are adventurous!) you are close to the cultural center of the Philippines. Surely, you will enjoy your stay here while learning English. The school has room accommodations that have a garden view and or sea view, where you can unwind more yourself and feels like you’re near to nature.

Aside from it, Genius English Proficiency Academy is an “English Zone” Place due to being a multi-cultural school and speaking English is a must. So, you have a better chance to practice, improve and a chance to speak English than speaking your own language. It is not just to enhance your English skills or abilities but also to gain more self-esteem in using and delivering on it by engaging to some excursions and socializing with different nationalities inside and outside the school premises.

VIETNAMESE DAY!

VIETNAMESE DAY!

On December 16, 2015, our academy featured another interesting country. Can you guess which country it is this time? It’s not really that difficult to guess. Just by looking at the traditional clothing this pretty student is wearing, there’s no doubt we’re talking about VIETNAM!

Led by our IELTS student from Vietnam, Jeniffer, the presentation went on smoothly as she disscussed some general information about Vietnam, namely the flag, language, music, and traditional dance.

Shortly after that, Kevin, our Vietnamese marketing manager, took over to talk about the unique festivals and games that the Vietnamese people are fond of.

Everybody got even more fired up when Kevin started discussing about traditional Vietnamese food. “Nem”, “cha com”, “phong tom” cake, you name it! We can really say that Vietnamese cuisine is among the best in the world! During this time, the hosts offered the students some local Vietnamese tea and sweet lotus seeds and they loved it!
In this part of the presentation, Jeniffer showed everybody how to make “buffalo puppets” made of leaves, a common past time for both Vietnamese kids and adults. The best part is, the students got to experience making it by themselves! Teacher Lucas was there to join, too!

We can all see that the presentation was a success. Everybody learned a lot about how culturally diverse this country is, knowing that there are various ethnic groups that contribute to its uniqueness. A perfect combination of Asia and a noticeable touch of the West, Vietnam definitely is one of the most exciting places to visit!
But hold on, we’re not done yet! One of the best ways to get to know a country is through food, and there is NO WAY this cultural presentation review will finish without it!
Behind the scenes and before the presentation started, Kevin, teacher Feodda, Jeniffer, and her father, Hong Chuyen, who was also a student here studying General English, started preparing the food as soon as the last class had finished.  They looked like a perfect team! While Jeniffer and Kevin were preparing the Vietnamese spring rolls at the cafeteria, Chuyen was the main man for frying!

We would like to thank Jeniffer, Kevin, and of course Mr. Hong Chuyen for giving us a chance to experience Vietnam, its culture, its flavors, its beats and rhythms, and most of all, its people.
